Arsenal tables £8m to Ajax for Nicolas Tagliafico

Argentine footballer and Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico could be on his way to join Arsenal in the January transfer window following the submission of an £8million bid to secure his services, according to reports coming from Italian outlet Calciomercato via Talksports.

The 26-year-old defender has been one to watch this season following his impressive display which earned him a call-up to the Argentina squad at the World Cup has also made him a top transfer targets for Unai Emery’s side.

The Argentina left back have been very pivotal to Ajax in their strong start to the season winning eight games in 10 matches played so far in the Eredivisible recording one loss and one draw.

According to several reports, Premier League club Newcastle United was keen to sign the left back last summer but a deal failed to be agreed on in the final days of the transfer window.

The odds are seeming to be low for Newcastle to sign the Argentine with Arsenal jumping in the race to sign the left back in January. However most premier league predictions do expect Tagliafico to be an improvement for any team in England.

The North London boss is keen to sign the Argentine to provide competition to Arsenal’s current left back Nacho Monreal, with Nicolas improving in his form for the Dutch side even more.
